On May 15, we traveled to San Francisco de Macoris, the third largest city in the Dominican Republic. After meeting with the pastors’ association, we visited a local church where we led a few worship songs, and then shared the Word with our Dominican brothers and sisters. God did an awesome thing - almost everybody in the church responded to the altar call and came forward for prayer. Many people were touched by God in a special way that night. During the prayer time, we prayed for healing for one lady who had back problems. She approached us happily after the service, praising God, and sharing with us how the Lord had healed her. Praise the Lord!! Please continue to pray that God would stretch forward His hand to do signs and wonders, and healings, as His word is preached, so that souls may be saved, and the church may be strengthened.
In our latest newsletter (May), we have an article about a Dominican sister in Christ, Yamilka, that gave her testimony about how God had healed her. She phoned us the other day to say that she got the results of some blood tests back. A while ago, her white blood cell count was 900 - dangerously low. The doctor’s results showed that her white blood cell count is now 9000, a 10x increase from before. What a miracle!! Praise Jesus!! We are rejoicing with her at the goodness of God and His love and power.
This past Wednesday we went to Río San Juan to do a service with a local pastor in the Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana (Evangelical Christian Church). We joined with a group from Canada, who helped us invite the people out to the service which took place at around 8PM. The weather started to turn ugly, and the rains came down. Normally this means that the attendance will be very poor, since most people walk or ride motorcycles, but by the grace of God we saw the church packed out. It was standing room only, with around 150 people in attendance. We had an awesome time of worship, praise, and preaching. The Word of God went forward powerfully, and around 12 people gave their hearts to the Lord! Praise Jesus!
