This week God answered prayer!!  The elections for the Dominican Republic were held and President Leonel was re-elected for the third time.  We spent the week gathering together each night to pray. We prayed for many things and spent time seeking His face and drinking in His presence. It was a time of refreshing and worship as well.  We asked God to cover this island with peace as the campaign came to a close and a new president would be chosen. There has been times in this country when political clashes have brought violence. We have seen the crowds shouting and burning tires in the streets. The race was close between two parties and it was felt that if the vote was close or questioned there would be violence.  So we prayed and watched. And God covered the island with peace!!  Even the local coverage of the election noted the calm and peace that surrounded the voting and announcement of the results. It was the hand of God that moved and brought peace that can only come from Him. Thank you to those who joined us in prayer this week.

EDM is in the process of planning a major pastor’s conference for the month of June.  It will be a time for the pastors and their spouses to really seek the Lord.  Part of the planning process is to get invitations out to all the pastors.  Here in the Dominican Republic there isn’t UPS, Fed Ex, or postal service; you have to go out and hand deliver each invitation to each pastor.  After three full days of phone calling and asking directions to each of the pastor’s home, all the invitations are out and each of the pastors are very excited about the upcoming event.  Without the modern conveniences of a delivery service, it really gives inviting a personal touch.  It not only gave us the chance to see where each pastor lives but also the opportunity to reconnect. Delivery D.R. style has its benefits. We thank the Lord for each day He gives us here in this beautiful country.
