In a village about a half an hour from Nagua, we worshiped the King of Kings with a group of people in San Jose Rafael. We had visited with their Pastor on numerous occasions and now had the opportunity to bring the Word of God. Pastor Jim shared a powerful message about “love”–true love. True love being the kind based on 1 Corinthians 13…a love that is about what is best for the other person and not ourselves. He also shared about it would be the love of God in the people of the church that will bring people of the village to faith in Jesus. During the service the electricity went out and there were not any lights, but service continued without missing a beat! One man from the congregation came up front with a flashlight, another held up their cell phone while another person fired up the generator! They continued to pursue God. Afterward there was an incredible time of altar ministry as many people came forward to receive prayer for salvation of loved ones, prayer for God to fill them with His love, prayer for healing from disease— and God was glorified! What a beautiful evening in San Jose Rafael.

Today was a beautiful day in Nagua, no tropical storms, no hurricanes, only sunny and warm. We were to go out and look at our next church construction project in San Rafael.  We started with getting some fuel and proceeded to have a mechanical breakdown.  Vehicle troubles here happen often; but, here it is very common for someone to stop whatever they are doing and help you.  Today a mechanic stopped and within a half-an-hour our vehicle was back on the road and headed to our destination. He did not want us to bless him with money, but rather it was his pleasure to help us.  We met with the local pastor of San Rafael, who is in the beginning stages of her construction project and she told us all the details needed to complete her church. This pastor has such a gentle, God fearing spirit about her.  We believe there has never been a missions organization that has worked in the area of San Rafael. The community is very ready to here the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I do believe we have found our next team construction and outreach project.  With God all things are possible.
