Last night we held an outreach in El Factor. We projected the movie, Facing the Giants, on a screen that was secured to a concrete wall in a local park. Before we began the evening, “More than Broken” (our missionary young men) performed a few songs by Switchfoot. The crowd quickly grew. As the night went on there was a light mist of rain in the air and we each individually prayed that we would not lose the crowd that had gathered. The mist continued and we used an umbrella to shield our projector and sound equipment. There was a group of young men in the crowd that were quite intrigued. The mist grew stronger. Some people left. However, these young men remained as well as a small crowd of people. As each victory occured in the movie, the crowd cheered. As each act of God presented itself in the movie, the crowd shouted alleluia! It was a night of perseverance on all parts of the equation. After the movie ended, a visiting pastor from Alabama shared a message of hope. He shared that with God all things are possible! He shared the importance of being on the winning team of Christ. Many young men responded as they prayed together to give their lives to the Lord. The evening ended as all the young men gathered around and put their hands together as they shouted “Jesus!”
