The local church in this area used to meet in a hot, cramped wooden/tin shack that accommodates up to 20 people. All the church equipment is currently being stored in the pastor’s house. The new church construction will allow for significant growth, a cooler environment, and church equipment storage.

2) Asamblea de Dios “Casa de Refugio”
Pastor Juan Bautista, Nagua
Formerly meeting under a tin roof within partially constructed block walls, the growing church was able to finish the construction of the church building. The immediate neighborhood is very poor and the local church has a thriving ministry in this area. This church is a “House of Refuge” for the community.

3) Iglesia Pentecostal Rio San Juan
Pastora Carmen Elena, Rio San Juan 
Pastora Carmen has been pastoring in this rural area of Rio San Juan for the past ten years. She and her family live and run a business in the city, but their heart is in the countryside. Currently, she pastors a smaller church about 3 km away. Once this new building is completed she will hand the reins of the older church to her associate pastor.

The church congregation has had to move several times in the last two years. They have used rental facilities and need a place to call home. Pastor Pedro has a real compassion for the lost and sick of his community. He has a real desire to have a community health clinic available to the poor of the area.

Pastor Gregorio, Yabacoa
Nestled in the back roads of Yabaco, sits the new work of Pastor Gregorio Cordero. Presently, his church is meeting in a small rented facility. Pastor Gregorio and his family have a great desire to reach their people for the Kingdom of Christ. This new project will help him complete his task.

6) Iglesia Evangélica Cristiana Rio San Juan
Pastor Sixto Peralta, Rio San Juan
Pastor Sixto Peralta has been working on this project for several years. He ministers in a very poor area of Rio San Juan and has had some difficulty raising the needed funds to complete the work. His congregation is meeting in this small building which is busting out at the seams and leaks when it rains.

7) Iglesia de Dios Rio San Juan
Nestor Haini, Rio San Juan
Pastor Nestor is in dire need of a new place to meet with his congregation. His current building leaks and floods during rainy season and the rent is very high. He has a genuine heart for both the Dominican people and the Haitian people of the community. He works in a very poor area of Rio San Juan.

8) Iglesia Metodista Libre
Pastor Modesto Lopez, El Factor
Pastor Modesto has had this work on the table for several years. He has planted one church in El Factor and now is planting this work on the other side of the city. He is now in the process of bringing up some leaders to take on this new project. He has a heart to reach the lost youth of the surrounding communities.

9) Iglesia Evangélica Las Cejas
Pastor Carlos, Las Cejas
Pastor Carlos has now moved into his new church and he and his family live in the back of the church. Besides pastoring he works a very difficult job six days a week in the rice fields. Both Pastor Carlos and his wife love the community and people of Las Cejas and want them to come into a loving relationship with their King.
