Welcome to EDM’s Short Term Missions information area. Short-term teams are a vital part of our ministry in the Dominican Republic. Keep on reading to find out how you can get involved in short-term missions with us. Also, the menu bar to the right contains several important links and resources that will help you in this process. Thank-you for your interest!
Types of Teams:
Teams will come down and work with us for a 1-week time period, doing a variety of exciting and important tasks to see God’s kingdom advanced in the DR. The following is a list of different team-types that we may have, according to the needs that are present in the areas we minister in at that time:
PASTORAL: Pastors’ conferences, retreats, and training are vital for the many pastors we work with. There is a great need to minister specifically to these pastors, as well as their families and churches through times of prayer, preaching, teaching and discipleship. This could include ministry specifically for men and/or women.
EVANGELISTIC: Street ministry including music, drama and skits. Sports ministries, including basketball and baseball tournaments or camps can be organized. Vacation Bible School or Sidewalk Sunday School for children are welcome. Outreach services can include; beach, street, and village ministry.
MEDICAL: Doctors, nurses, dentists, and other medical specialists can join us in providing a variety of health awareness seminars to many different areas through established national doctors, hosted by local churches and Every Day Ministries. Medical clinics may also be a part of this, if so needed.
CONSTRUCTION: Church and community construction projects are available for those who have a variety of construction skills. This includes the construction and finishing of churches and other building projects. There are also work projects available that may not require skilled laborers: painting, park clean-up, etc. (Cost of project materials may need to be raised by visiting team.)
TOWN MINISTRY: Targeting specific towns for the week which may include visitation, evangelistic events, donations, food and clothing distribution, work projects, and church services.

Testimonies:
Here are some testimonies of short-term missionaries that have partnered with us:
“This Trip was absolutely amazing. Once again it was a life changing experience working alongside EDM. My faith was strengthened so much. It was amazing seeing miracles. I love the people here and I have a special place for them in my heart. The last day I was praying and I got a peace in my heart that I was going to come back again. I’m so excited to take this love back to Wisconsin. Thank you EDM!
-Kyrsten (Fond du Lac, WI)
“This trip has been amazing. Being able to impact others for God in the way that we did this week, and the teamwork that ensued during this week, is truly a very humbling experience. The people here live so simply compared to Americans. Seeing them has given me a new perspective of my life. Thank you for this truly exhilarating experience!”
-Jonathan (Mount Horeb, WI)
“I have really appreciated the work this ministry does for the local pastors and communities. They will go where few go and do what few will do. The physical labour (whether it be pouring cement, building stairs, painting, etc) and building projects a team gets to be a part of is a direct parallel of what is happening in the spiritual around them. God is building His church in the DR and any who partner with EDM will have their hearts changed and pointed in a new direction. The verse “where your treasure is there your heart will be also” totally shows what will happen when a team gives their time, money, and energy to join with EDM: God will change your perspective on how a Christian is meant to live their life-indefinitely! They can facilitate a week of ministry for a team thoroughly and make sure the team experiences the most they can in the little time they’re here for. Thanks, EDM, for the privilege of serving with you!”
-Pastor Tim, youth pastor (Toronto, Ontario)
